The Resistance of Denti-Geogrid Reinforcement in a Sand Model Based on the Pullout Test

In order to investigate the pullout resistance of Horizontal-Vertical reinforcement, a “denti-geogrid” was assembled by bonding “denti-strip” with geogrid and tests were carried out. Subsequently, analytical approaches investigated calculate on basis surface sliding model, Perterson Anderson’s Jewell’s Chai’s proposed stress summation model. Moreover, new index named “scale factor” suggested reflect proportion bearing provided transversal members. The research showed that: 1) under same test conditions, denti-geogrid much higher than that common geogrid. All geogrids linear strain softening in later stage tests. Given normal stresses, due expansion effective areas suffering lateral earth pressure, more denti-strips meant significant resistance; 2) Among five theoretical approaches, solutions model made best agreement lab results, an average relative error 2.82%. On other hand, also simplicity calculation; 3) Due gradient fitting curve scale factors lower load, would be dominant, which means could play decisive role cases low level.
